ABOUT LOUIE

 

Louie Rosa Alicea is an award winning Puerto Rican film director, actor and editor. He graduated and earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production from Full Sail University in 2016. Over the years, he has worked as an editor at a TV Station in Puerto Rico, managed as a content creator for multiple creative outlets and directed a wide variety of audio visual projects.

During his stay at Full Sail University, he won the Hall of Fame 24-hour film contest for the short film “Heat” where he debuted as a 1st Assistant Director. He also worked as an editor on two short documentaries; The Great Enz and The Perfect Selfie. Both documentaries featured at the Enzian Theater where The Perfect Selfie won first place in January and The Great Enz third place in March of 2016. The Perfect Selfie also received a Bronze Telly Award in the category of Social Issues.

Rosa also wrote and directed his thesis short film, A Beautiful Trip. This short piece tells the story of a kid who believes he’s on a space mission as he struggles to accept the death of his father. With his editing and animation knowledge, Rosa provided context and depth to his other-worldly story by incorporating visual effects to more than 20 shots.

​

In the end, Rosa proved that he can lead a crew up to 40 individuals, run a successful crowd funding campaign and find creative solutions while working with a budget of only $4,000 without compromising his vision.
